Disney Queens: Elsa

As far as this series goes, Elsa is a bit different. Unlike any other Disney princess, she actually becomes queen DURING the movie itself. Now, I could have imagined what sort of queen she might become decades down the road like I did with the others, but instead, I choose to look only a few weeks, months, maybe years. Else also seemed fairly mature relative to the other princesses, including her sister Anna, so to me, I don't think it would take long at all for her to grow into her crown once she was relieved of the burden of keeping her powers a secret.

The dress is based on the design she wore for her coronation, which took place of course prior to her transformation. Notice how dark the colors were on that original dress, with no blue hues—indicative of someone with a dark secret, unable to show who she really is. After "letting go", her entire outfit turns not just blue but also much brighter. This dress, then, is meant to connect the two: she is clothed in the raiment of the queen, but in HER way, in HER colors. Oh, and also the header and footer are blue, unlike my other illustrations, because, well, snow.
